On arrival at Colombo airport, placard pick up and transfer to Yala (about 260 kms / 5 hour drive). Enroute, visit Kosgoda(about 75 kms from Colombo).
Kosgoda is famous for its turtle hatchery operated by the Wildlife Protection Society of Sri Lanka. Several species of turtles, especially the endangered hawksbill are protected here. Most vulnerable of all are their eggs which are left uncovered on beaches all around the coast. These eggs are brought to the hatcheries by the fishermen. Visitors are shown the huge tanks filled with new born but lively hatchlings. After being fed, the hatchlings are taken to the sea and released when they are a few days old.
Continue to Galle (about 45 kms from Kosgoda), the once chief port of Ceylon and is a town rich in history.
It was the center of the Dutch regime in the 17th century and the majestic Galle Fort (spanning 90 acres) bears testimony to this fact. The city of Galle is one of the well preserved colonial-era cities in Southeast Asia and has been declared a 'World Heritage Site'. The Dutch museum & the Dutch church are two famous tourist attractions in Galle. The city is also known for its delicate handmade lace and ebony carvings.
Later, proceed to Yala and check-in to your Hotel inYala.
This morning, explore the largest national park in Sri Lanka, the Yala National Park. Home to wild elephants, wild boars, buffaloes, leopards, bears, deer, crocodiles and a large flock of migratory and indigenous birds, the park has an added bonus of a scenic ocean frontage.
Later, proceed to Kataragama( about 15 kms drive ), a pilgrimage town formed around the story of Kataragama and his battles with the forces of darkness.
This morning you head to Hikkaduwa(about 200 kms drive), a popular beach city of Sri Lanka.The rest of the day is at leisure. You can indulge in water sports like swimming, snorkeling or simply relax around the beach.
Full day at leisure and for water based adventure activities. Coral sanctuary is the main Tourist attraction of the place. The water over the reef is never more than 3 to 4 mtrs. Snorkeling, diving & glass bottom are the most preferred activities here.
Today, proceed to Balapitiya( about 18 kms drive ), a place where the Madu river enters the sea.
Embark on a river safari and visit uninhabited islands and a cinnamon plantation where you could get an insight into typical rural life.
Continue to Colombo(about 155 kms /4 hr drive). Afternoon you go for city tour and for shopping tour.

Colombo city is full of popular tourist attractions such as National museum, Beira lake,Cargills& Miller building, Independence square, Colombo Fort, Pettah Bazar, Railway museum & Mount laviniya beach etc
