Karnataka’s one of the open secrets, Halebidu was flourished in 12 th & 13th centauries. The main attractions here are Hoysala Temple & Shantaleswara Temple. Together they took roughly about 100 years to build & still incomplete.
These temples are set in a pristine lawn & the restoration work done on the temple gives one an impression of impeccability. Nature of carvings done on the walls is so intricate as to resemble carvings done on sandal wood rather than stone.
